The Italian African Women’s Forum was born out of a desire to build concrete bridges between Africa and Italy, placing women at the centre as protagonists of change.
Our action is based on the idea that women’s participation is a vital force capable of transforming societies, generating
development and promoting a more just and sustainable future.
Through the Forum, we want to promote the active participation of African and Afro-descendant women in Italian public, social and economic life, so that they can be recognised as full citizens and leaders.
We give voice and space to female leadership, combating all forms of gender discrimination and overcoming the cultural prejudices that still hinder inclusion.
We deeply believe in the value of the skills of women of African origin and are committed to supporting their professional recognition, so that their qualifications, experience and talents are fully valued and recognised in the world of work.
The Forum also serves as a meeting point to encourage networking between African and Italian women, generating exchanges, mentoring and new forms of collaboration based on solidarity and mutual trust.
At the same time, our commitment extends beyond national borders: we want to share projects and sustainable development paths in Africa, promoting equal opportunities, female entrepreneurship and empowerment through cooperation and support initiatives in the countries of origin.
With this in mind, we encourage the exchange of good practices and dialogue between Africa and Europe, with a particular focus on social innovation, environmental sustainability and female leadership as tools for shared progress.
Our ultimate goal is to create an international movement of women united by values of solidarity, professionalism and common development, capable of generating a positive impact in communities and building together a future of equity and dignity for all.
